The Shiringa tree is native to the Amazon rainforest. The tree is economically significant for its latex, harvested by tapping the bark, which is processed into natural rubber. Ecologically, it supports rainforest biodiversity, contributes to soil stabilization, and aids in carbon sequestration. Mozdeh Matin has proudly collaborated with a local community for the past seven years, preserving their traditional techniques while exploring new, sustainable ways to honour this remarkable material.
